aat comment

We gave you an overview of some crowdfunding  websites  earlier this month with an examples of a business that has flourished from the aid of this industry. You may be considering  crowdfunding for your big  business idea but before you do check out our five top tips below you get started. Good luck.

1.       Build a presence on social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook. Both your experience of using these platforms and your list of friends/followers will be essential in gaining impactful support for your campaign.

2.       Be open to using different forms of media to publicise your crowdfunding journey. From blogs to videos, these varied tools can showcase different aspects of your work and attract different audiences.

3.       Don’t be afraid to ask peers for their support online. Simply asking someone with a strong Twitter following of over 10,000, “Hello, I’m trying to raise money for [insert aim], can you spare a re-tweet please?” won’t do any harm. Getting a Retweet by someone with a big following can have a huge impact on your goal.

4.       Simplicity is key. Remember what inspired you to want to support your cause and try to sum up that feeling in 140 characters or less. If you know why you’re doing it, it will be much easier to explain your goal to others.

5.       Update your donors on the progress and results of their investment following the crowdfunding campaign. A sign of common courtesy, showing those who tried to help your dreams come true the results will improve the awareness of your project and likely gain repeated support for future crowdfunding efforts.

Talk to us and tell us about your experience of crowdfunding in the comments below, we’d love to hear from you.
