Nominations for our elections are closing soon. Here’s why professional members should nominate themselves. Improve how we represent our membership As a body with a large and broad member base, we have to work hard to support everyone. You can help us find new ways to meet our members’ needs. We talk a lot about being inclusive, but we need you to help us achieve it. We’d like to see better representation with regard to ethnicity and those who are neurodiverse putting their names forward for election. This could really help AAT achieve a greater range of thought. Stand for election Broaden our skillset Bring your insights, ideas, experience and constructive criticism to how we execute our new strategy. AAT wants to attract a broader cross-section of its membership through elections, from larger organisations, industry and the public sector. Stand for election Shape our vision Diversify our range of skills, perspectives, and knowledge. We have a great mix of people at different stages of their careers, reflecting the needs of different parts of membership. Stand for election Gain experience Very few people are going to come into this role with all the boxes ticked, and we don’t expect you to. We will guide your learning and development and show how you fit into governance. “Being on Council is like free CPD. You learn about governance, pensions, all sorts. I’m exposed to top-level management disciplines such as corporate governance and best practice”, says Andy Murray.
