Is the art market a playground for money launderers?

Hannibal by Jean-Michael Basquiat, is the most expensive piece of art sold at auction. 

However, it has also become the poster child for those concerned that the art market is being used to clean dirty money.

The international anti-money laundering body The Financial Action Task Force says it is impossible to produce a definitive estimate of the amount of money globally laundered every year, because the illegal nature of transactions involved means precise statistics are unavailable.
